The cups are actually impaction surfaces located directly and precisely below the jets. The bowl- like shape allows for use of liquid collection substrates if needed and simple direct recoveries. Held within a collection tray, the eight cups can be inserted and removed together as a unit allowing less confusion and faster sample throughput. Additional cups and another tray will allow advance preparation leading to higher productivity.
